Objective: Students will collectively make a video using Windows Movie Maker or Photo Story. Each student will
be responsible for three to five slides using resources from both the internet
and pictures or drawing taken in class. Each student’s video collects will be combined together to create a complete
garment demonstration that will be shown to Clothing 1 students. For example, student one will focus on choosing fabric, student
two will focus on choosing a pattern, and student three will focus on notions etc. The
following are other examples: installing a zipper, cutting out pattern pieces, reading a pattern envelope, pinning your fabric,
cutting your fabric and so on. Students must sign up for their section on a list provided by the teacher. They will be given
class time to make their sections as well as record their voice for the audio. This project will be assigned in the beginning
of the marking period and conclude by the end of the marking period.
Activity:
- Demonstrate
finished product by showing completed video.
- Have students
chooses their section of the video.
- Have students
create a simple story board on paper for approval.
- Give students
class time for individual slides.
- Have each
student record audio for their slide.
- Teacher
puts all slides together.
- Post on
teacher tube for viewing.
Rules:
- No photo of individual faces, hands and back view of student is allowed.
- All photos used must have permission from the site or must be taken in the classroom
- All resources must be identified.
- Grades are based on participation and individual slides for each student.
Standards: STANDARD 8.1 (Computer and information literacy ) All students will use
computer applications to gather and organize information and to solve problems.
